My writing space
In September, "Poets and Writers" asked readers to submit photos of their writing spaces. They wanted to see each writer's unique approach to writing and how those writers find inspiration, motivation and focus. Some of the spaces on the website were stunningly beautiful and others were austere and barren. My study/studio is a place of organized clutter.

And yes, that is Perry Mason on the small television. I finally have all the episodes and play them over and over. The window on the left looks out at the crab apple tree, the greenhouse and the garden.

Guadalupe and Hearts
Terry and I visited Taos, N.M. in July. I had the opportunity to photograph several of my favorite images--hearts and Guadalupe.
The first Guadalupe was on the door of a small tourist/art gallery/trading post across the street from a church.

The heart was part of a painted door at the Sagebrush Inn, where we were staying.

The golden Guadalupe was at one of the historic church, in the stone courtyard.

Performance Art
When I say, I am interested in performance art, what I really mean is that my life is an ongoing work of performance art. Whatever I do, I am constantly asking myself, "Is this a pretty picture?" This weekend, I put away the misc. items on the sideboard and replaced all the sheep and cat figurines with three milk bottle vases for a clean, uncluttered summer look. That meets my criteria of, "Is it a pretty picture?" I also began the process of ordering the back porch by adding green plants and wind chimes to make a pleasing place to sit and visit. Make no mistake, I still have some very messy places...like my jewelry box and the bathroom closet, but I try to make areas that I look at as pretty as possible.
